Enjoy the traditional atmosphere with newly-built "Machiya" comfortably

Machiya are traditional wooden townhouses seen in old city like Kyoto and Kanazawa where there were less damage of WWII. The typical machiya is a long wooden home with narrow street frontage. As machiya is more than 100 year-old, it is not comfortable to live for modern people. Gunjo no tsuki is a newly-built modern machiya with latest equipment with 3 rooms, so it is very comfortable to stay. There are main building (2 rooms) and an annex building (1 room).

Enjoy professional meals at Katamachi

There are no staff in the building and we don't provide any meals. Katamachi is a very famous restaurant district in Kanazawa, which is only a 5-minute walk from here. Please enjoy high quality meals at Katamachi.

Comfortable with spacious room

Unlike typical hotel rooms, the room size we provide is 37sqm, 44sqm and 66sqm. As all equipment and furniture are provided, like kitchen, bath room, washing machine, refrigerator and microwave, you can stay longer. Why don't you change your usual trip by staying this house? So you can feel like residents of Kanazawa.

Cafe KuriSalo

If you wish to have breakfast, please use Cafe KuriSalo located a 1-minute walk from Gunjo no Tsuki at the entrance of Nishichaya Street. You can enjoy freshly baked natural yeast bread made from domestically grown wheat.

Please note that the cafe's operating hours are Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
